T20 tourney held at Jakrem

Mawkyrwat: The 1st T20 Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament 2019 organised by Manbha Welfare Organisation, Mawkyrwat at Motmeron Field, Jakrem in South West Khasi Hills District started on Monday in which Washsiej SC defeated Comrade XI by 2 wickets. The tournament was inaugurated by the President of the KSU Mawkyrwat Circle, Elevenson Wanniang in the presence of Dapbor Jyrwa, Secretary Football Committee of the Mawkyrwat District Sports Association among others. 16 teams from different parts of South West Khasi Hills participated in the tournament.The first game of the tournament was played between Wahsiej SC against Comrade XI which Comrade XI won the toss and elected to bat. Comrade XI put a target of 97 runs from 19.4 overs losing all 10 wickets. Highest scorer James Jyrwa scored 23 runs while Riwell Marwein of Wahsiej took 5 wickets. In reply, Wahsiej SC scored 98 runs from in 19.4 over and lost 8 wickets. Wanphrang Nongsiej of Wahsiej scored 22 runs while Pynshngain Kwanniang and Willbert Jyrwa of Comrade XI took 3 wickets each.
