One dead in hit and run case

JOWAI: A twenty-three-year-old youth died on the spot when a truck hit him while he was travelling from Phramer to Jowai on his motorcycle on Thursday.

The youth, identified as Dapbiang Sungoh of Mowtyrshiah village in Jaintia Hills, was a resident of Dongmihsngi locality in Jowai.

Sources informed that the biker might have slipped on the road as it was raining at that time and the truck might have run over him.
