SHILLONG: A devastating fire broke out at Umden market under Raid Nongtluh in Ri-Bhoi district on Saturday morning, destroying around 80 shops. The fire broke out around 10.30 am and could be doused by fire brigades at 1 pm, according to Syiem Raid Nongtluh, Vincent Syiem. He said the amount of damage could be to the tune of Rs 7 lakh. Nobody was hurt in the incident.
