AGARTALA: Over hundred families were displaced following inundation across the state due to heavy monsoon shower over last two days.

Met officials here Saturday forecast widespread isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall over sub-Himalayan region and northeastern states including Tripura in next 48 hours.

With incessant rains, low-lying areas of Agartala got submerged throwing traffic movements out of gear.

Reports from other parts of the state said, the heavy rains coupled with storm upset the normal life. There were reports of damages to paddy and summer vegetables in several parts of the state due to inundation.
