Monsoon Mela

Marwari Mahila Samity (MMS), Shillong, organized a two-day-long Monsoon Mela on July 7 and 8 at All Saints Hall in city. The mela was organized under the guidance of Mrs. Tilu Agarwal, president and Mrs. Nisha Jhunjhunwala, secretary of MMS. People from all over India participated in the two-day event as they displayed various stalls ranging from clothes to jewellery (real and artificial) to shoes, bags, crockery and much more. The Mela drew huge crowd from a cross section of the society.

 Population Day

The Social Work Department, Women’s College in collaboration with North East Educational & Development Society (NEEDS) will celebrate World Population Day 2011 with the theme – “Calling attention to urgent global issues” at Women’s College ,Laitumkhrah on the 11th July 2011 from 11am. The programme for the day includes a special talk by B. Chanda, Jt Director, Directorate of Census Operations, Arunchal Pradesh.
