Platinum jubilee

The Lady Keane School and College will organise the closing ceremony of the platinum jubilee celebration on the college premises at 2pm on Monday. The Union Minister of State for Water Resources, Vincent H Pala will attend the programme. As part of the platinum jubilee celebration the College will organise an alumni-meet-cum-dinner at 5pm on Saturday.

HNYF body

The HNYF Byrnihat Circle recently elected new office-bearers for the year 2011-2014. The new office-bearers include Iaineh Wahlang (president), MJ Chyne (vice president), Donbok Manner (general secretary), Moonlight Rabon (assistant secretary), Mon Lamin (finance secretary), B Lamare (educational secretary), Shanu Synrem (sports secretary), JJ Majaw (publicity secretary).

Legal awareness

The Meghalaya State Commission for Women will organise a legal awareness programme at the Don Bosco Youth Centre from 10.30am on July 22 which will be inaugurated by the Urban Affairs Ampareen Lyngdoh.

New office-bearers

The Greater Mairang People Social Welfare Organisation (GMPSWO) in a general meeting held recently elected new office-bearers. The new committee includes Khamtilang Marwein (president), Ilotstar L Lyngkhoi (vice president), Richardstone Ryntathiang (general secretary), Joyoustin L Mawlieh (organising secretary), Michael Marwein (publicity secretary) besides other executive members.

Award function

The prize distribution function in connection with the various competitions organised by the Shillong College Academic Society in collaboration with Shillong College on the occasion of World Environment Day will be held on July 20 at the Shillong College Conference Hall, from 2p.m.

 RTI filed

The CSWO on Monday field an RTI before the Ganesh Das Hospital seeking information regarding number of rape cases which has been detected and medically examined in the hospital since January 2010.
