Border haat opening on July 23

SHILLONG: Postponed several times, the date of opening the border haat located at Kalaichar, West Garo Hills has now been fixed on July 23. Informing this Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma on Wednesday said after Kalaichar, the inauguration date of the Balat border haat would be fixed. The Chief Minister also said his Government was planning to upgrade the facilities at the various land custom stations to boost the bilateral ties between the two countries. “We are also planning to connect all land custom stations by railways,” he added.
