Documentary on Tirot Sing, Kiang Nangbah screened

 SHILLONG: Deputy Chief Minister on Tuesday inaugurated the screening of the first ever documentary film U Tirot Sing Syiem and U Kiang Nangbah – The Patriots at U So So Tham auditorium, here.

Speaking on the occasion, Lanong lauded the director of the film S. Sweety Diengdoh for her efforts to revive the historical events of the Khasi & Jaintia Hills and the sacrifices of the patriots U Tirot Sing Syiem and U Kiang Nangbah. He felt that with the formation of the Meghalaya Film Makers Association the artistes, directors, producers and authors would find a better future in showcasing their creativity.

In her speech, Diengdoh informed that the shorter version of the film, which was sponsored by the Films Division Mumbai, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, will be dubbed in Malayalam and other languages for telecast by TV stations under the genre historical/freedom movement.
