Neil Patrick has no plans to marry

London: How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris has dismissed reports that he is preparing to wed his fiance now that gay marriage has been legalised in New York. The 38-year-old actor revealed his engagement to his boyfriend of five years, David Burtka, last month, as gay campaigners celebrated the passing of the new legislation, reported Daily Star. Harris is happy to keep the status of their relationship as it is, instead of taking advantage of the new ruling which came into practise on July 24. “We have no plans to. We’ve had rings on our right hands for five years. We proposed to each other separately at different times ages ago. “We were gonna get married in California and then Prop 8 (legislation banning same-sex marriage) happened. We have contemplated it here, but the problem is if you say, ‘Yes, we’re planning a wedding’ then it becomes a big, giant thing. We’re certainly not planning a wedding, but we think it’s amazing that 800 and some odd people got married yesterday (sic),” Harris said. (PTI)

Friends taught Kudrow to be fun

London: Playing Phoebe Buffay on the hit sitcom ‘Friends’ inspired actress Lisa Kudrow to be more optimistic and a fun person. The 47-year-old actress had nothing in common with the kooky masseuse she portrayed in the sitcom for 10 years, but says she will always be grateful to Phoebe for showing her how to live life to the fullest, reported Contactmusic. “Thanks to Phoebe, I don’t have to worry – I can have fun. She was very far from who I was as a person. But part of her definitely rubbed off on me, inspired me to be more optimistic,” Kudrow said. In Kudrow’s latest TV show Web Therapy she stars as narcissistic counsellor Fiona Wallice, who treats her patients badly and the actress is thrilled to play someone so different from both Phoebe and herself. Writer-director Don Roos believes the audience will be shocked to see Kudrow portray an unlikeable character. (PTI)

Chrissie Hynde hates me: Robbie

London: Singer Robbie Williams has said that ‘The Pretenders’ singer Chrissie Hynde despises him because he joked around when she asked him to work on a song with her. The 37-year-old singer met with Hynde 16 years ago where she asked him to finish a song she had been working on, Contactmusic reported. “Chrissie Hynde doesn’t like me. I met her once at a New Year’s Eve party when I was 21. It was very late in the morning and she said ‘Do you want to come back to mine and finish a song I’ve been writing?’ “I said I’d come back but I didn’t think much of the song title,” he said. (PTI)
