Mumbai: Almost the entire film industry has been bit by the remake bug, but Bollywood actor Imran Khan is maintaining a safe distance from it.

“Personally I’m not really in favour of remakes. If I feel that I loved a particular movie, then I would like to see the hero of that film only doing that role. I watch Sholay for Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra. I wouldn’t like anyone else doing that,” the 28-year-old told IANS.

He has similar thoughts about sequels.

“Sometimes people make sequels unnecessarily…just because the film has worked. If it has a scope, like if it’s an action film or a superhero film, then I can understand. But it should not be made without a reason,” he said the actor who has done films like Jaane Tu…Yaa Jaane Na, I Hate Luv Storys, Break Ke Baad and Delhi Belly.

On his professional front, Imran is looking forward to the release of Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. (IANS)
