Two block-level Mahila Cong committees constituted

 JOWAI: The Jaintia Hills Mahila Congress has constituted two block committees – one in Shangpyng and the other in Sutnga.

A team of Mahila Congress led by Jaintia Hills District President, Perina Shylla along with the state president Mebel War and the JHDCC chief Gilbert Sten and others attended the meetings at Sutnga and Shangpung to install the Block Mahila Congress on Monday.

The Jaintia Hills Mahila Congress chief Perina Shylla informed that the meeting at Sutnga elected Mina Nongtdu as the Block President and Nichwa Lapasam as the Secretary. PHE Minister Shitlang Pale, who is also the local MLA, attended the meeting at Sutnga.

Another meeting was held at Shangpung. It was attended by local MLA Coming one Ymbon, who is also Parliamentary Secretary in charge Soil and water conservation. The meeting elected Isabella Pakma as the president and Ruchwa Langbang as the secretary of the Raliang Block Mahila Congress.

Ms Shylla said the main objective of the formations of Block Mahila Congess was to strengthen the party in Jaintia Hills district.

Lok Adalat: The Additional Deputy Commissioner of Jaintia Hills district has informed that the Lok Adalat will be held on the September 17 on the premises of Tome Memorial High School Mooralong, Jowai from 10 am.
