Poets’ meet

The North Eastern Service AIR Shillong organised a Hindi Poets’ meet at St Anthony’s College on Friday. Altogether 9 participants from all the north eastern states including Meghalaya participated in the meet. The Vice Chancellor of NEHU, AN Rai was present on the occasion as the chief guest.

 Missing

One, Anokul Paul has been missing since Friday morning after he left his house at Lower Mawprem. No information regarding his whereabouts is known. He was wearing a red and blue check shirt and black pant. He was suffering from mental disorder for the last 4 months.

 Association

A new association known as the United Border Area People’s Welfare Association was formed at Photkhroh village recently. The association aims at working for the welfare and uplift of the communities of the border areas. The association has selected Blestar Thongni as its President besides other members.

 Function

The Bodo Sahitya Sabha in collaboration with the Shillong Bodo Welfare Association will organise a special function in memory of late Moniram Mochari, ex President of Bodo Sahitya Sabha at Don Bosco Youth Centre at 10am on Tuesday. Meghalaya Governor, RS Mooshahary will be present on the occasion as the chief guest.

 Convocation

IGNOU, Regional Centre Shillong is hosting its 24th Convocation at Don Bosco Youth Centre 3.30pm on Monday. Minister of State for Human Resource Development, D Purandeswari will be present as the Chief Guest.

 CPC meet

Triennial general body meeting of CPC Meghalaya will be held on September 4th at Jagannath Mandir Auditorium Thana Road at 11 am.
