Vendor kidnapped in Dimapur

Kohima: A footpath vendor was allegedly kidnapped by two unidentified “Naga youths” near Church Road on Friday.

In a joint press statement by Dimapur Sematilla Council Chairman Khuwoto L Chishi and Gaon Burha Vikato Zhimo said one Bimal Das, a resident of Sematilla Colony, was allegedly abducted by two unidentified ”Naga youths” who arrived in a white Maruti van.

The council said Bimal has got no involvement in any illegal or criminal activities and was just a mere footpath vendor, who used to support his family with his meagre income. It has demanded for immediate safe release of Bimal.

The Council cautioned that it would resort to own course of action if those involved in the kidnapping failed to release Bimal. They also quoting the wife of Bimal said there was no news about his husband and that no contact has been made by the kidnappers so far. (UNI)
