SHILLONG: Meghalaya Arts Society is organizing a concert titled “Bollywood Leitmotifs Also…” featuring Shillong Chamber Choir, Vienna Chamber Orchestra and Desh (fusion band from Chennai) at the U Soso Tham Auditorium on October 28 & 29.
“We have used the word ‘leitmotifs’ in our theme for the concert is because the meaning of this word means musical references. So, ‘Bollywood Leitmotifs Also..’ means that our concert will have references ‘’quite a bit’’ from popular Bollywood tunes which has become very much a signature of the SCC,” SCC leader Neil Nongkynrih said in a statement issued on Tuesday.
According to Nongkynrih, the concert would have a lot of light pieces from musicals to Bollywood hits all rearranged and revamped for choir and orchestra.
