Training prog for cops

 SHILLONG:In the bid tocreate awareness about emergency care among the local population, GVK EMRI – Meghalaya on Saturday conducted a one- day training program for 24 police personnel on First Responder and Basic Life Support.

It may be mentioned that  First Responder is an advance training for First Aid and is the first and vital link to a good emergency response system for any society.

The objective of onducting the training is to strengthen the chain of survival in society.

The program included a class room session where the delegates where taught about general principles of first aid followed by a practical session on chest compression, positive ventilation using BMV (Bag Mask Valve) and use of AED (Automated External Defibrillator).

The participants were also awarded certificates at the completion of the training programme.
