SHILLONG: An august gathering at Sri Aurobindo Institute of Indian Culture Hall was enthralled by blissful music of Bangalore brothers – Ambarish Kelkar and Vaibhav Kshatriya, the cousins blessed by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar of the Art of Living Foundation, Bangalore.
Vaibhav and Ambarish rocked the crowd with some popular numbers. The concerts — Sumeru Sandhya, Satsangs and Soul Sync — were organised by Shillong Chapter of Art of Living.
The band presented a unique blend of sufi, classical and hip-hop style of singing rarely heard or seen here in the city. The concert got under way with Ambarish explaining the importance and uniqueness of “Soul Sync” followed by a song “Gananaayakaya…Gandaivtaya…” and the the hall roared with people cheering, clapping and singing along.
The crowd danced to the drum beats and swayed to the clanging bells whereas the Satsang comprised of Malharvari Motiya No Dya Vo Bharun with Devi’s Gondhal. The crowd came to their feet and danced whole heartedly to the tunes of Dama Dama Dam Mast Kalandar, Govinda Bolo Hari Gopala Bolo, Tere Mast Mast Do Nyan among others.
Founded in 1981 by HH Ravi Shankarji, The Art of Living Foundation is engaged in stress management and service initiatives. The organisation operates globally in 151 countries.
The organization’s programme are guided by Sri Sri’s philosophy of peace, “Unless we have a stress-free mind, a violence-free society, we cannot achieve world peace.” Sri Sri has played the role of a peace mediator for countries in a deadlock by bringing together conflicting parties on the negotiation table and has defused violent situations. The foundation also brings together people of different faiths and cultures to promote inter faith harmony.
Meanwhile, the devotees expressed satisfaction over the hosting of the concert.
A devotee said, “One is allowed to clap, cheer and sing with the performance which is the uniqueness of this concert.”
Another devotee said she could really feel the inner peace as taught by Sri Sri.
