SCA win U-16 cricket tourney

SHILLONG: Shillong Cricket Association (SCA) beat Tura District Cricket Association by 107 runs to win the U-16 Inter-District Cricket Tournament in Tura on Sunday. SCA won the toss and elected to bat against the Tura zone winners who did well to restrict the team from Shillong to 182 for the loss of ten wickets in 46.4 overs. B Myrthong scored a gritty 47 for SCA while Purna Joshi (37) and Rajesh (23) were the other contributors. In reply, the team from Tura was bowled out for a paltry 46 in 17.4 overs. Rashid Jaffar of SCA who was declared the man-of-the-match claimed four wickets for his team. The trophies were handed over by Additional DC, West Garo Hills Ambrose Marak.
