The Indian Institute of Medical Representative (IIMR) recently opened its branch at Guwahati with the aim of training and placing educated unemployed youths from the region with various pharmaceutical companies.

 Dog Show

Six-year-old Storm from Shillong was named the best dog at a Dog Show organized by the Guwahati Kennel Club in collaboration with the Kennel Club of India at Guwahati recently. Storm who belongs to dog trainer M Ebortre Roin from Shillong bagged this award for the third consecutive year.

U Soso Tham death anniversary

The Dorbar Shnong of Madan Laban and Riat Laban will commemorate the death anniversary of poet Soso Tham on December 17 at 8 am which will commenced with a cleaning drive throughout the Madan Laban and Riat Laban locality.

Guest house inaugurated

Deputy Chief Minister BM Lanong inaugurated the Earle Holiday Guest House Annexe at Oakland Road on Wednesday. He said the guest house being situated in the heart of the city should be able to provide proper services while maintaining a healthy environment.

Body found

An unidentified person was found lying dead at 2nd Ground Polo recently. He was rushed to Shillong Civil Hospital and it was found that he died due to extreme exposure to the cold weather and seemed to be an alcoholic. Relatives are requested to come and claim the dead body at Civil Hospital failing of which it will be dispose off to the municipality.
