Mawpherhut gets motorable road in New Year

 NONGPOH: It was a most happiest and memorable day for the residents of Mawpherhut under Ri-Bhoi District on December 31when the village received an unbelievable gift of a motorable road worth Rs. 6 lakh providedunder the 13th Finance Commission by the local MDC of Nongpoh, Dr. C. Lyngdoh. The road was inaugurated by the Chief Adviser to the State Government Dr. D.D Lapang.

Mawpherhut village is one of the oldest villages of the district which came into existence 20 years back Having over 40 households, the village has no proper road creating a lot of problem for the villagers.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. D.D Lapang lauded the efforts of the local MDC for construction of the motorable road for the benefit and development of the village.
