Bureaucratic reshuffle in Meghalaya

Shillong: Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma has effected a minor reshuffle in the State bureaucracy, official sources said on Saturday.

Deputy commissioners from four districts were transferred.

West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Sanjay Goyal will now take over as the new Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills replacing Jopthiaw Lyngdoh.

Lyngdoh is also the Commissioner and Secretary of Excise, Registration, Tax and Stamps.

East Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Pravin Bakshi has been transferred as West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills, Vijay Mantri, will now take over as the new Deputy Commissioner of East Garo Hills replacing Bakshi.

Moreover, South Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner BDR Tiwari has been transferred to the State Secretariat where he will take over as the Joint Secretary of the Labour department.

However, the government is yet to announce Tiwari’s successor.

The government also transferred Sub-Divisional Officer (Sadar) Tura, Ms P Pandey, who will now take over as the Deputy Secretary in the Health and Family Welfare department.

The Government also elevated three officers in the rank of Commissioner and Secretary to the post of Principal Secretary. (UNI)
