NONGSTOIN: The Deputy Commissioner of West Khasi Hills District S.Kharlyngdoh has ordered an inquiry into alleged anomalies in implementation of MGNREGS in Siejlieh village of the district.
Several anomalies have been unearthed by KSU’s Siejlieh unit in implementation of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) in the village.
The Deputy Commissioner has directed the Block Development Officer of Nongstoin to conduct an inquiry regarding the allegations made by the KSU unit.
Talking with The Shillong Times on Sunday, Kharlyngdoh said if the allegations were found to be true stern action would be taken against the guilty.
Meanwhile, the villagers of Siejlieh would hold a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the issue.
