Rhino attacks vehicle on NH 37
GUWAHATI: In the second incident within a week, a rhino strayed out of the Kaziranga National Park (KNP) and attacked a vehicle on National Highway 37 in East Assam’s Golaghat district on Friday, official sources said. The full-grown male rhino strayed out of the park along the animal corridor and attacked the vehicle which was substantially damaged though none of the three passengers were injured. The rhino was, however, injured as blood stains were found on the car but it moved back into the park. The vehicle was on its way to Golaghat from Guwahati. (PTI)
Measles in Arunachal
ITANAGAR: Outbreak of measles in remote villages in East Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh has been reported with detection of at least 30 cases. According to official sources here on Friday, the worst affected villages in the district are Namchar Bagang and Soshi Bagang, around 17 kilometres from Chayangtajo, the circle headquarter. A voluntary health camp was held at Chayangtajo on Sunday. (PTI)
