GSU calls off bandh threat

TURA: The southern zone of Garo Students’ Union has withdrawn its proposed South Garo Hills bandh from the January 23-26 following a meeting with district officials. The GSU wants the outgoing DC to handover charge to another officer before January 26 and this was accepted by the government, claimed the GSU leader Prosper Marak. He said that the government will appoint a temporary officer until a new DC is appointed.
