KSU indefinite strike

NONGSTOIN: The Khasi Student Union (KSU) Mawshynrut Circleon Friday announced indefinite strike to check all the overloaded trucks plying from Shallang-Riangdo and Athiabari starting on February 14 from 6.am.

KSU President Sranly Rongrin told media that the district administration of West Khasi Hills has not responded in checking overloaded trucks in the area which has caused worsening of the the already dilapidated road here.

Recently the KSU demanded the Deputy Commissioner to issue an order for checking of the overloaded trucks in the area. However, no action was taken in this regard.

Meanwhile, an official of the district administration West Khasi Hills said that the Deputy Commissioner S.Kharlyngdoh has already issued the order for checking overloaded trucks after the members of the FKJGP requested him to do so last week.
