Road show to enhance classroom teaching skills

A cultural programme organised on the occasion of One Day North East Workshop (English Road Show) at Lady Keane College Auditorium on Saturday

SHILLONG: With an aim to enhance classroom teaching skills and confidence among English language teachers and trainers, the Lady Keane College hosted the English Road Show in the college premises here on Saturday.

The road show which included a one day professional development workshop was organized by the British Council in collaboration with the English Language Teachers’ Association of India (ELTAI). The main aim of the road show is to impart information on how to access ELT materials and online resources, access to magazines, journal such as ETP, opportunities to shares ideas with other teachers and providing the opportunity to join teachers’ networks. The workshop focused on various points which included –improving pronunciation, exploring effective classroom management techniques through the teaching knowledge test, learning and the learners, brining the world into the classroom, teaching children English and getting the most out of a reading. The workshop was participated by many teachers and trainers and certificate of participation were given away.
