SHILLONG: The East Khasi Hills Local Taxi Welfare Association (EKHLTWA) has sought clarification from the State police whether the JNNURM buses having Government registration number can operate for commercial purposes. In a letter to the DGP N Ramchandran, EKHLTWA said, “It is really sad to see the JNNURM buses plying without valid documents in violation of various provision of the Central Motor Vehicles Act (CMVA).”
