SHILLONG: The Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District has informed the general public that the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs has instituted a National Award designated “Kabir Puraskar” for honouring the persons who show physical / moral courage in saving life and property of members of another community, caste or ethnic group.The award is given in three Grades – I, II and III carrying a cash amount of Rs2,00,000; Rs1,00,000 and Rs50,000 respectively along with a citation. Intending individuals from East Khasi Hills district who desire their names to be recommended to the Government for the Award are required to send their nominations to the DC, East Khasi Hills District on or before April 15.
