Two killed; three go missing

Guwahati: Two members of a family were killed, one was critically injured and three others went missing after an attack by assailants in Assam’s Cachar district, official sources said here on Wednesday.

A group of about 20 armed assailants attacked the residence of a person at Kathalbagan area in Silchar late Tuesday night and killed two of his family members on the spot and forced away three others, including a woman and child. Another person was critically injured but escaped being killed by feigning to be dead.

The dead include the houseowne and three taken away by the attackers were his wife, brother and daughter, the sources said.

The police have launched a massive manhunt to apprehend the assailants. (PTI)
