One beaten by unidentified miscreants

NONGSTOIN: Three unidentified men beat up Nipstar Thyrniang (54) a resident of Tiehthawiar village on the way to Langpih in West Khasi Hills district on Friday.

The incident took place near Langpih PHCwhich is close to Assam Police Battalion camp of Langpih. The victim suffered minor injuries on his head, face and eyes.The victim cried out for help but nobody was available.The miscreants fled the scene after the incident.

The officer-in-charge of Langpih police out post (Meghalaya) soon after learning of the incident rushed to the spot and shifted the victim to Nongstoin Civil Hospital.

The team of local NGOs including Hyniewtrep Achik National Movement (HANM) and KSU Nongstoin circle rushed to Nongstoin Civil Hospital on Saturday and condemned the incident. They urged upon the local authority to take immediate action against the culprits.
