Security agencies in Meghalaya on Saturday intensified operations against Garo Hills-based GNLA after a spate of foiled attempts at security personnel, police said.
“We have intensified operations with our limited resources in the district,” South Garo Hills district Police chief Mukesh Singh said.
This week alone, a police convoy came under attack from the terrorist group in East Garo Hills even as an IED went off at a road side ahead of the security patrol party on Friday.
“The blast was triggered by GNLA in frustration owing to pressure exerted by the security force which would now force us to take more measures to ensure that civilians are not targeted,” Singh said. (PTI)
