Four killed in Tripura road mishap

Agartala: Four youths were killed and their friend seriously injured when the car they were travelling in dashed against a tree near the Tripura capital early Tuesday, police said.

“Four youths were coming to Agartala in a Maruti car. The speeding vehicle dashed against a roadside tree killing four youths on the spot and leaving their friend, who was driving the car, critically injured,” police spokesman Nepal Das said.

The victims were 25 to 30 years old.

The mishap occurred at Resom Bagan, near here, on the Assam-Agartala National Highway No.44 in the wee hours of Tuesday.

The injured youth was shifted to the Govind Ballabh Pant medical college and hospital here. His condition was stated to be extremely critical. (IANS)
