Top Pak General in Lanka on four-day visit

Colombo: A top Pakistani General is on a four-day visit to Sri Lanka during which he will hold talks with the civilian and military leadership of the country and is also expected to visit former LTTE strongholds of Kilinochchi and Trincomalee.

Gen Khalid Shameem Wynne, Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of Pakistan, is here on the invitation of Sri Lankan Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal WDRMJ Goonetileke, military spokesman Brig Ruwan Wanigasuriya said.

During his four-day stay, the Pakistani General will meet President Mahinda Rajapaksa as well as the country’s Defence Secretary, Chief of Defence Staff and the Commanders of all the three services.(PTI)
