By Our Reporter

SHILLONG: Leader of Opposition Conrad K Sangma has expressed displeasure with the PWD Minister HDR Minister for continuously refusing to give any assurance on the tentative deadline to start the construction work of the Jowai supermarket.

During Question Hour in the Assembly on Monday, Sangma demanded a categorical assurance from the PWD Minister on the tentative date for commencement of the project since it has been delayed for long.

In reply, Lyngdoh said, “The work would start as early possible”.

Sangma however was not satisfied with this reply and asked the PWD Minister to give him a tentative date.

Earlier, Lyngdoh informed that the tender process has already been completed while adding that the Government is yet to finalize allocation of the contract work.

He further informed that the Government is presently negotiating with the firm since it had quoted a very high price.
