Demand for creation of plain belt district

 SHILLONG: The President, Plain Belt District Demand Committee (PBDDC), West Garo Hills has submitted a memorandum for creation of Plain Belt District with its Headquarter at Rajpur on Tuesday to the Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma; Meghalaya Governor RS Mooshahary and Chief Secretary WMS Pariat, respectively. The PBDCC has also served a deadline of 48 hours to the government to look into the matter and asserted that if the government fails to materialize on the demand within the given timeframe set by them, the organization will go for mass agitation.
