Govt to create awareness on Central schemes

 SHILLONG: Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma has said the government has initiated several measures to sensitize youths of the State to take advantage of several Central-government sponsored schemes including Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP).

“We would like to create awareness among the youth about these schemes,” Dr Sangma said during the Question Hour in the Assembly on Wednesday.

The number of beneficiaries of the PMEGP in different districts are 346 (East Khasi Hills), 148 (West Khasi Hills), 126 (Jaintia Hills), 103 (Ri-Bhoi district), 70 (East Garo Hills), 119 (West Garo Hills) and 101 (South Garo Hills).
