London: Actress Lily Collins, who is making her debut as fairytale princess Snowwhite in Mirror, Mirror, says she is fascinated by filmmaking and would love to write and direct a film someday.
The 23-year-old, daughter of rocker Phil Collins, said she has already started working on a screenplay, Contactmusic reported.
“I would love to write. I started writing a screenplay recently because I love writing for newspapers and magazines and I always considered that so different to a screenplay but the true essence of a story can be told in so many different forms. So I’d definitely love to write something one day.
“And I love every angle and part of the business, whether it’s in front of or behind the camera. I’m always asking the crew questions because it’s fascinating to me and I would love to direct,” she said. Collins said her acting ambitions are all over the place because there are so many genres she wants to try out to avoid being typecast.
“I loved the comedic undertone in Mirror, Mirror. This is all so new to me but I’d love a sweeping British drama period piece, a dark, disturbing and raw role and a comedy. I mean, it’s all over the place for me.
“I don’t want to be pigeon holed. I’d like to be able to try all sorts of things and find new bits about myself in the characters.”
The actress has belied her Snow White image by stealing from movie sets. Collins, 23, who is the daughter of rocker Phil Collins, said she couldn’t leave the set of new movie Mirror Mirror without a souvenir, Showbizspy reported.
“I got one of my daggers and one of the posters that says, ‘Snow White is Dead’. I had to take one of those. Costume-wise, I would love the swan head hat I got to wear at the ball. It could come in handy!,” she said.
The actress was also left battered and bruised on the sets after taking several blows from a sword while shooting fight scenes with Armie Hammer. Directed by Tarsem Singh, the film stars Collins, Julia Roberts, Armie Hammer, and Sean Bean in the pivotal role. (PTI)
