SHILLONG: The Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) will soon launch the ‘Ultra Small Branches’ in the state to provide banking services to the people of un-banked villages under the financial inclusion initiative.
Informing this here on Wednesday, CMD, IOB, M Narendra who is on a two-day visit of the North Eastern states said as of now there are 30 normal IOB branches in all over North East and the bank is planning to establish more 20 branches in the months to come.
“The idea behind launching these services is to address the problem of the customers from the rural areas. We want to reach out to the general people of the rural areas. In this type of branch there will be one person enrolled assisting the problems of many”, he said.
