Players during a game of water polo in a competition organised by the District Sports Officer, Jiantia Hills in collaboration with the Seng Samla Shnong Pdeng Cultural and Sports Club at Shnong pdeng (Wahumngot), Jowai on Thursday. The event was organised as part of the ‘Year of the Youth’ celebrations in the State. Apart from water polo, boat rowing and swimming competitions were also organised. District Sports Officer H. Shangpliang was the chief guest in the event. The year 2012 has been declared the ‘Year of the Youth’ by the Government of Meghalaya and various event would be organised in the state throughout the year to celebrate the same.
