HSSLC results declared

 SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) declared the results for the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (Science and Commerce streams) on Thursday night at 9 pm.

Gaurav Ghosh of St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary school bagged the top positions in the Science stream while Harsh Chachan of St. Edmund’s College (Higher Secondary section) bagged the top position in the commerce stream.

Ten students from St. Anthony’s made it to the list of the top ten positions in the Science stream which figured a total of 12 students.

In the Science stream, the pass percentage for regular candidates was 67.68 while for the non-regular students, the percentage was 66.15.

In the Commerce stream the pass percentage for regular candidates was 68.99 while for the non-regular students, the percentage was 36.04.

Gaurav Ghosh, who bagged the first position in the Science stream with 471 marks (out of 500), told The Shillong Times that he was overwhelmed with his feat. “The results came as a shocker for me even though I was expecting the same,” he said.

When asked about his preparation for the exams, he said normally he used to study for five hours but during holidays he used to study for almost ten hours daily.

“Hard work and motivation is important for success,” he asserted.

Harsh Chachan, who secured the top position in the Commerce stream, secured 440 marks (out of 500).
