Shillong: Amidst controversy, the State Directorate of Information and Public Relation (DIPR) has declared the results of the written examination conducted for appointment to the post of editor, content manager, producer, sound assistant and translators.
The results have been put up on the official website of the department. Nine candidates have been shortlisted for the post of Khasi translator and three for the post of Garo translator, five for sound assistant, six for the post of content manager and eight for the post of editor. The final selection will be made based on the outcome of interaction with selected candidates slated for Thursday and Friday next.
However, the controversy over evaluation of the answer sheets of the written examination refuses to die down, with sources hinting that candidates for the various posts have already been selected in a clandestine manner and the evaluation was a mere formality.
It may be reminded that controversy erupted over the recruitment process after reports came out that the answer scripts of the written tests were evaluated by Grade III and IV staff of the Directorate without the supervision of any senior DIPR official.
The incident has raised serious concern on the intent of the office as well as the effectiveness of the recruitment process since the evaluators are neither knowledgeable on the subject nor do they have the authority to scrutinize the answer sheets.
