Felicitation

The Ardhendu Chaudhuri Charitable Trust will felicitate meritorious students belonging to Mawprem 21 and Greater Laban area who have secured 75 percent or more marks in the recent board examinations. The students will be feted at a public function to be held on June 23 at the Rilbong Community Hall. All eligible students are to submit copy of mark sheets and address proof like EPIC of parents to the Trust Office by June 15

Achievement

Bnri Khriam of Auxilium Girls Higher Secondary School secured first position in the firing competition in the combined annual training camp held in Asansol. The competition was organized by the 10bengal Battalion NCC recently.

General meet

The general meeting of the Central Government (civil) Pensioners’ Association of Meghalaya will be held on June 9 at Bhagiya Sahitya Parishad auditorium, Jail Road at10.30am.

Road mishaps

Four people sustained injuries when a Mahindra pickup truck (MLO7A-4866) they were travelling on from Williamnagar to Tura was involved in a head on collision with another Mahindra pickup truck (AS18C-3190) coming from the opposite direction. An empty truck (ASO1Y-0216) on its way from Guwahati to Jowai overturned at Mawlyndep under Mawryngkneng Block, East Khasi Hills on Sunday at 11:36pm. The injured Kris Ioongsko, Room Phawa and Iaishah Phawa were admitted to Shillong Civil Hospital. Two persons were injured when a Maruti 800 travelling towards Umiet went off the road and overturned after the driver lost control of the car near the ICAR main gate on Sunday at 5:45pm. In another mishap, a motorist sustained injuries after the motorbike hit another vehicle coming from the opposite direction at Rableng under Mawryngkneng Block, East Khasi Hills on Sunday at 12:09pm.

Tree saplings

Students of Sikkim Manipal University will distribute tree saplings of four varieties, free of cost at Khyndailad Point and Don Bosco Square to commemorate World Environment Day on Tuesday under the theme “Each One – Plant One”.
