LJP to contest State election

SHILLONG: Despite failing to win a single seat in the 2008 Assembly election in Meghalaya, the the Lok Janshakti Party has decided to field its candidates in the 2013 elections.

Party president Ram Vilas Paswan on Tuesday said, “We will field candidates in the upcoming elections.”

Reacting to a query on the number of candidates the party plans to field, he said that the decision will be taken by the state unit of the party.

The Trinamool Congress has also decided to field candidates in all the 60 Assembly constituencies in the 2013 election.
