 Tura: An orientation programme on disaster management for secondary school teachers was organized by the District Disaster Management Authority, West Garo Hills, Tura, on Friday at the Conference Hall of DRDA, Tura.

Present at the programme was Pravin Bakshi, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, West Garo Hills, Tura. The Deputy Commissioner said that teachers and staff in schools need to be particularly sensitized because of the large number of students who are quick to panic and being unprepared can lead to chaos and stampede. He also stressed on the importance of role play and mock drills in schools through which the message could be effectively communicated.
