Shillong: The FKJGP, North Khasi Hills unit has questioned the credibility of check gate at Byrnihat, Ri Bhoi saying “so-called law-enforcers are breaking all the rules to make money.”

The FKJGP has alleged that personnel posted at Byrnihat check-gate are performing their duty just as a formality. “But in reality they are flouting all rules and charging money from the migrants if the latter fail to produce any legal document,” a member of the FKJGP unit Lui Lyngdoh said.

He said the Federation would be forced take action against the personnel of the infiltration wing who indulges in such illegal activities.

He urged people to extend their support in their effort to curb corruption at the check gates to prevent infiltration of illegal migrants.
