Two shops burgled in city

 Shillong: Unknown miscreants managed to break into two shops-Sajan Electricals and Electrical house at GS Road opposite Sani Mandir belonging to Sajan Kr Ghoriwala of Qualapatty here on Wednesday night.

According to police sources, unknown miscreants entered through the roof of the Sajan Electrical shop at GS Road and managed to steal pendrive, recharge voucher, memory card and a mobile set worth Rs 15,000.

Later, the same group entered another shop, Electrical House by breaking the wooden wall and stole a Toshiba LCD TV (19 inches), two Onida LCD (22 inches), 250 number of mobile sets, 5 numbers of DVD, pendrive and memory card besides others.

The cost of the stolen items is yet to be ascertained, police said.

Meanwhile, in another incident, Rilbong police recovered around 17 numbers of car batteries near Harrison Bridge on Thursday morning.

Police said the miscreants managed to escape and investigation is still going on.
