TURA: A ‘Movement for Change’ campaign was organised on Saturday last by candidate for the 50 North Tura Constituency, Roger Benny A Sangma, and his supporters at Chibragre near here.

Addressing the gathering Sangma said, “We believe that we can have a much better Meghalaya if we have honest, well intended, good hearted, uncorrupted, honest and committed politicians governing this State.”

Lamenting the dearth of young and dynamic youth joining politics Sangma said that the campaign aimed at removing the negative connotations to the word ‘politician’ and make it an honourable profession for people to embrace it and bring about complete social transformation of Meghalaya and its people. The meeting was attended by several hundred people including senior citizens, youth, women’s group, church leaders and Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress secretary Richard M Sangma and Mahila Congress Samiti president Miabi Sangma.
