SHILLONG: An 88th minute goal by Laltlangluanga helped Nangkiew Irat SC claim a 3-2 victory over a resilient Lawmali Pyllun SC during a SPL match at the JN Stadium on Thursday.

Suresh Singh, who was later injured after colliding head-on with Lawmali’s keeper Wallambor, opened the account for Nangkiew with a 1st minute goal. Suresh collected a rebound off the keeper and produced a calculated shot.

A Benjamin cross in the 20th minute was then converted by Alfoster Sunn to give Nangkiew a comfortable 2-0 lead. Two minutes later, however, Lawmali’s Balashemphang found his way through the Nangkiew defence before firing one into the goal. Lawmali finally produced the equaliser in the 45th minute after Therman made a cross for Gamiliel to confidently confirm a goal. Two minutes before the stipulated ninety, Laltlanluanga’s swinging free kick saw the ball beat the keeper and even with ten minutes of injury time, Lawmali were unable to recover.
