A 21-year-old youth, identified as Edrean Pariat, allegedly committed suicide on Monday evening at his residence at Mynthong, Jowai at 4 pm.
Sources said the youth hanged himself adding that he had been scolded by his mother which might have prompted him to take the drastic step.
