Shillong: The BSF has denied the allegations leveled against them by the Nongmensong Dorbar Shnong alleging a BSF Commandant of threatening to shoot a member of the Dorbar for objecting to the fencing by the BSF which is an encroachment into the locality.

Terming the allegation as false and baseless, the BSF has stated that the fact are contrary to the report stating that the construction of the perimeter wall around the BSF Campus at Mawpat replacing the existing barbed wire fencing is presently under progress when on Friday two civilians-R Shanpru and Moses Synram came to the site and opposed the ongoing construction.

“The BSF personnel on duty at the site requested them to stop opposing the construction work and to discuss the matter with the higher officers”, PRO of the BSF claimed adding that on meeting them, the officers had explained the bonafide construction work being undertaken by the BSF and also told them that the BSF is constructing the security wall replacing the existing wire perimeter fencing within the BSF land. “Neither abusive languages or threatening words were used nor was anybody confined, as alleged in the reports and as per available information, no FIR has been filed by the civilians”, the PRO stated.
