SHILLONG: The ANVC (B) has urged upon the Muslim community in the state to appeal for peace and normalcy on behalf of the North Easterners on the occasion of Eid-Ul-Fitr.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, the chairman of the ANVC (B) Rimpu Marak while extending their best wishes to the community on the occasion of Eid said that the situation in most of the cities in the southern states are still tensed in spite of the authorities assuring security and assistance.

According to ANVC (B), the Muslim community can play a vital role in diffusing the on-going tension in the country by pleading for peace.

The ANVC (B) also fears that the situation may be flared up on communal lines if not brought under control at the earliest.
